The growing interest for bushcraft and outdoor activities inspired Hultafors to expand the range of knives with two Outdoor knives, the OK1 and OK4. The two knives have been developed in close dialogue with bushcraft users and are made to be used in the wilderness.
Knives developed for bushcraft enthusiasts
The modernity of hi-tech society has sparked a growing interest for off-line, screen-free activities in the great outdoors.
- We are now proud to present two dedicated Outdoor-knives developed in close dialogue with bushcraft-enthusiasts, says Nikita Golovlev, Head of Design at Hultafors Group.
Japanese steel scandi grind for longlasting sharpness
The two Outdoor knifes from Hultafors, the OK 1 and OK 4, both come in 3 mm thick Japanese knife steel with a Scandi grind for longlasting sharpness. A black EPD-coating protects the blade from rust, and the grinded spine of the blade is designed for starting a fire with a fire starter. The long tang makes the knives suitable for batoning.
- We hope that outdoor-fans will find our new knives great tools to be brought along when heading out in the wild, says Nikita Golovlev.
For tough tasks in the field
Outdoor knife OK1
This heavy duty Outdoor knife was developed to be hardwearing and tough for rough duties in the outdoors. The large handle in durable PP plastic has a 82 mm long tang which makes the knife suitable for batoning.
Add the 3.0 mm thick blade made from Japanese carbon steel hardened to 58-60 HR and it is easy to see this is a knife designed to take a beating.
The textile belt loop allows up to 80 mm wide belts and is equipped with a pocket for a fire starter. The cutting edge has a scandi grind for ultimate long-lasting sharpness and easy to resharpen if needed.
To withstand rust and corrosion the blade has a protective electrophoretic deposition coating (EPD), as well as an engraved scale. The grinded spine of the blade is designed for starting a fire with a fire starter.
The perfect mate to bring into the great outdoors.
Versatile and powerful
Outdoor knife OK4
An outdoor knife must be hardwearing and robust. That is why we gave the OK4 a 3.0 mm extra thick blade in Japanese carbon steel hardened to 58-60 HRC, as well as an 82 mm long tang inside the handle. This makes the knife suitable for batoning.
The handle is fitted with a Santoprene friction grip for extra control. The cutting edge has a scandi grind for long-lasting sharpness and is easy to re-sharpen if needed. The grinded spine of the blade is designed for starting a fire with a fire starter.
